It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if never given the chance.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a platform to produce her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her bow and seven world titles have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it was a challenging time because it seemed I've had no rhythm completely," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts activate and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from there Healy was in motion.

"A chance to take the field and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

When she was removed the team required another 66 at run per delivery - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we are confident we can do it."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So great is her will, she later said she regretted not playing despite the injury.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those injuries have delayed plans to retire, this World Cup is likely to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as captain.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
