Christantus Uche Fuels Comfortable Palace Victory at Shelbourne.
Despite entering their maiden European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting very quickly. Without star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another three points in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct entry to the knockout stages, particularly following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity
This occasion offered a platform for several Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, scoring for the second game in match.
A Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season were outmatched against a largely rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were already weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee injuries.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
