The head of state conducted a visit to address defense personnel in the Pokrovsk area on Tuesday. Zelenskyy announced that he met with warriors at the military base of the first unit of the Ukrainian National Guard Azov, which is managing protective maneuvers in the Dobropillya sector, a town approximately 20km from Pokrovsk.

Critical Situation in the Area

Geospatial data from a local initiative indicated that Russian forces had pushed further into Pokrovsk and its environs, though a large portion lacked clear dominance by either side. The situation remains critical, with reports indicating that invading units were digging in and enhancing fortifications in certain areas.

Russian forces continue to advance in the Pokrovsk front and are reportedly acting with enhanced confidence within the city proper.

Research institutes observed that national troops had liberated a significant portion of a Russian penetration in the Dobropillya direction, on the eastern flank of the Pokrovsk campaign.

National Long-Range Assaults Within the Federation

Ukrainian long-range drones targeted a production facility approximately over 800 miles inside Russian territory at the location. Local officials reported an explosion at the Sterlitamak facility that resulted in structural damage to partially collapse, adding that the cause of the explosion was undetermined. The national defense command stated there was considerable damage to the facility.

National forces confirmed attacking a Lukoil oil refinery at the location in the federal district east of Moscow. The degree of impact was currently analyzed. The territorial leader acknowledged a strike by multiple unmanned aircraft near the refinery.

Moscow's Defense Policy Changes

Russian military reservists will now have to guard oil refineries against unmanned assaults after the president signed a law on the start of the week expanding their participation in the military campaign. The head of state also enacted a decree allowing military conscription all year round whereas previously it was possible only during specific times in cooler seasons. The federation restricts draftees from being sent to battle, but after their military service they enter Russia's reserves, exposing them to potential of being sent to war.

Substantial defense expenditures have also started to pressure the national finances, with authorities hiking rates to address growing shortfalls.

The President's Calls for Global Assistance

Zelenskyy urged the US to remain open to supplying Kyiv with long-range weapons. Speaking at an EU meeting from the eastern front, the head of state also called for more global measures on the federation – including on Russia's gas and nuclear sectors – and said he wanted Ukraine to join the EU prior to the next decade.

Global Support and Foreign Policy Updates

The European nation plans to raise its military aid to the nation by a substantial amount next year to about a significant sum, the finance ministry in the German government said on the start of the week. This includes, among other things, heavy weapons, drones, military transports and the exchange of missile defense equipment.

Nordic ammunition manufacturer the corporation has signed a letter of intent with a national production company to manufacture, create and distribute munitions in the nation.

The European nation requested the envoy's presence on the weekday to challenge what it said were vulgar, disturbing and improper statements by Moscow's foreign ministry spokeswoman who associated the tragic event of a structure in Italy to the country's armed aid for the conflict zone. The nation's top diplomat stated that the country would not change its foreign policy stance or its principles in response to careless statements. The Russian embassy in Rome later posted condolences for the death of a construction employee in the incident but took the opportunity to complain that the angry response to the remarks was prejudiced toward the federation.
